It took the same film as these Miniportraits still in professional use, so I luckily needn't buy it. Before you start shooting get some routine into the movement from rangemeter to viewfinder. Make also sure if the rangemeter is set properly to infinity, maybe you can moove it a bit in the hinge. Don't use moderate speed film! The lens is damn slow and there's no tripod mount!
There might be lot's of discussion about handholding slow shutter speeds with rangefinders, but well, you're not going to enlarge your pictures, so get fast material to be on the safe side. Either you have the original flashbulb firing device with the blue filter in front, or you're looking for trouble.
The automatic shutter has no sync speed setting to use it with electronic flash. According to my quick Google search Your should be quite similar to my whatever but has a additional timer to tell you when the picture should be peeled apart. So if you're able to boil eggs outside a specialized household gadget the timer should be no reason to buy a manual for the camera. Happy shooting! I doubt any later Polaroid model can provide more fun or a feeling closer to photography.
If you 're becoming really addicted, you might end with a Speedgraphic or Technika. I'd say it's a true classic, because it's built during the right period, it also looks classic and neither handcocking shutters nor flashbulb exchange are modern. By the way using rangefinders is classic too.
